| ■ | Join us in the early morning of day one at the Spanish port of Algeciras, near Gibraltar, for a quick ferry crossing to Ceuta, in Morocco. Return ferry tickets are included in our price |
| ■ | We head south to the foothills of the Atlas, where we pick up the mountain pistes and begin exhilarating exploration, en route to Marrakech. Camping is often off-piste far from settlements, although we also make regular stops at pre-approved campsites. Camping costs are included in our price |
| ■ | Marvel at the wonders of Marrakech’s souks and the ancient medina, and be enchanted by the melange of North African culture and chaos on the huge main square, before we enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal and pass the night in an authentic riad. | ■ | From Marrakech we traverse the Atlas pistes of Berber country, southward to the desert regions, where tribal nomads are regularly encountered guiding their camel caravans along the sandy tracks linking oases |
| ■ | Experience the beauty of desert terrain, as we make the long unforgiving crossing east, towards the Saharan dunes of Erg Chebbi |
| ■ | Our route north takes us deep back into the mountains, and via the spectacular Todra Gorge for a dramatic finale to the adventure, which finishes in Algeciras on day fourteen |
| ■ | We break our return journey to Ceuta with an afternoon stop near to Meknes where we explore the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis |
